Mark Bettencourt, O.D.

Dr. Bettencourt received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1986 and his Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University. Dr. Bettencourt practiced in Wichita Falls, TX before starting Bettencourt Eye Care in Wamego in 1994. While in optometry school Dr. Bettencourt served as a teaching assistant in contact lenses and microbiology. He also was voted by faculty as one of the top 10 clinicians in his optometry class. Dr. Bettencourt is certified in the treatment and management of occular disease. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kansas Optometric Association.

His interests include weightlifting and nutrition, scuba diving and most sporting activities. Dr. Bettencourt and his wife Angie and daughters Morgan,Hadley, and Grace and Son Layton live in Wamego.

Reuben Thomas, O.D.

Dr. Reuben Thomas is a native of Derby, KS. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University, majoring in Physiology. In May of 2008, he received his Doctorate of Optometry from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK. Following optometry school, Dr. Reuben Thomas completed an optometric residency at BVA Advanced Eye Care in Edmond, OK and TLC Laser Eye Center in Oklahoma City where he is specialized in ocular disease and refractive surgery management. During his residency, he attended several advanced training courses in laser surgical procedures, including glaucoma treatment and refractive error correction. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Kansas Optometric Association.

Dr. Thomas and his wife, Tana, and their son, Broden, live in Manhattan.
